Last year, A. Roemaat Transport switched to the WMS from Boltrics and reduced administration costs by 75% thanks to this digitization process. For example, the logistics service provider from Lichtenvoorde can process 20% more orders with the same number of colleagues than a year ago.
A long history with the drive of a startup
A. Roemaat has been a well-known name in the transport industry for years and considers the Benelux and Germany its core area in which they can deliver within 24 hours. The organization from the Achterhoek is also experiencing significant growth in warehousing. For example, Roemaat has 14,000 pallet places at its disposal, spread over three sites. This growth brings with it a new dynamic.
From FIFO to optimal picking order – everything comes from the WMS
With the increasing warehouse activities, customer wishes are becoming more diverse, processes are becoming more complex, and the need to analyze data increases. Think of the registration of the production batch, FIFO, and a portal in which customers can view their stock. Ingmar Leussink, Warehouse Supervisor at A. Roemaat Transport: “You can and no longer want to keep up with that in an outdated system you want to be able to retrieve information at the touch of a button and share it with customers.”
There was also a desire at Roemaat to determine the most optimal filling level from the WMS and receive a notification when the minimum stock has been reached. The organization, therefore, needed a WMS solution that supports them in further digitizing their logistics processes. To use their time as efficiently as possible, they enlisted the help of WMS expert Jeroen van den Berg.
Ingmar: “We wanted to do it right. Our operation runs 24/7, and our expertise lies in logistics services – not in the selection of WMS systems. Thanks to his expertise, Jeroen introduced a select number of software suppliers. We found the best match in terms of functionalities and future-proofing in 3PL Dynamics from Boltrics.”
The best match in terms of functionality and future-proof
The 3PL Dynamics platform is based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central – a solid foundation that is continuously updated. Boltrics ensures that the solution is fully tailored to the needs of logistics service providers thanks to the input of hundreds of customers. As a result, all desired functionalities were already available as standard. For example, the organization uses Boltrics’ App Platform for scanning, and goods can be checked for quality at all times in the logistics process. Furthermore, a link has been created with Mendrix – A. Roemaat’s TMS solution to prevent manual input.
