Jan de Rijk Logistics opts for the WMS of Boltrics after a thorough selection process. The modern, future-proof solution will enable the number 16 in the top 100 logistics service providers in the Netherlands to strengthen cooperation with their customers.
Increasing focus on traceability and transparency
With more than 2,000 customers, Jan de Rijk Logistics knows the challenge of today’s increasing customer demand better than anyone. For example, shorter delivery times, increasing demands regarding product safety and traceability of goods.
Heino Kempers, ICT Director at Jan de Rijk Logistics: “Of course, we must be able to support these requirements. But that also means that we have to adjust our processes and need a system that can support this effortlessly.”
The search for a future-proof solution
But it turned out their current warehouse management system doesn’t offer the necessary functionalities that they need in order to be able to provide optimum service to customers now and in the future. Reason for Jan de Rijk to start their quest for a new warehouse management solution.
That quickly led the organization to Boltrics. Heino Kempers: “During an event last year, we followed a presentation from Jonker & Schut. During this presentation, they shared how they experienced the collaboration with Boltrics but also how they got a better grip on their logistics processes and data helps them to indicate where they can improve. That made us curious about Boltrics and their software.”
Complex customer goods flows
Jan de Rijk has an extensive network of logistics centers in the Netherlands with warehouses in Beilen, Meppel, Eindhoven, and Roosendaal, among others. The operation is completely different at each location. From manual to automated and from customers in pharmacy to automotive. All these flows with their specific characteristics must be supported.
Heino continues: “During a reference visit at VCK Logistics SCS, we gained a good impression of the possibilities with regard to complex customer goods flows. The extensive options, the always up-to-date guarantee and the fact that the solution is based on the Microsoft platform made the difference for us. So you can imagine, we are looking forward to starting the implementation coming summer.”
