Hartog & Bikker has successfully gone live with Boltrics’ Warehouse Management System (WMS) at their sit in Oss. This go-live marks an important milestone in the further rollout of the WMS across the other locations of the logistics service provider. With the implementation of the WMS at a total of four warehouse locations, Hartog & Bikker is preparing to continue relieving their customers in high-volume transport and storage in the future.

Facing future challenges with a full-SaaS WMS

In 2022, Hartog & Bikker began the search for a software solution that could support their warehouse activities at the locations in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Oss, Vuren, and Zoeterwoude. It was important that the system runs entirely in the cloud and can be flexibly configured by their own employees, says Jos van Dongen, Manager Solution Engineering at Hartog & Bikker.

“We were looking for a cloud-based WMS where our key users and application administrators can make certain changes themselves. This way, we can respond flexibly and quickly to customer requests, which is a must for our industry. With Boltrics’ WMS, our employees now have this capability.”

Additionally, the fact that Boltrics’ WMS is built on the reliable Microsoft Dynamics platform and hosted by Microsoft fully aligns with Hartog & Bikker’s approach towards the future.

Jos van Dongen continues: “A WMS must support our logistics activities. We want to be in control ourselves, but not be responsible for all the technical aspects of hosting such a software solution. That detracts from the focus on our core business, logistics. Issues like cybersecurity, accessibility, and updates have all become non-issues for us. It’s just well taken care of – which matches our company slogan.”

A textbook WMS implementation

The implementation of Boltrics’ WMS in Oss is the first of four implementation projects. A dedicated project team on the client side, with the knowledge and focus to configure and test processes together with Boltrics’ WMS consultant, is essential. Hartog & Bikker recognizes this value and received compliments from the Boltrics team.

“Compliments from Boltrics to those involved at Hartog & Bikker for the good effort and results of this project,” says Johan Das, project manager at Boltrics. “They did everything you can ask of a client team, resulting in a seamless go-live. A strong foundation for the upcoming projects!”

A streamlined inbound and outbound process, ready for high volumes

Hartog & Bikker specializes in the transport and storage of product groups such as glass, cans, cardboard, pallets, plastic packaging, insulation materials, and other voluminous products. With the new WMS, Hartog & Bikker streamlines all warehouse activities related to these products in one system. From inbound and outbound to VAL activities, advanced warehouse strategies, and storage fee calculations.
