Boltrics’ Web Portal: Provide Customers with Customized Tools for Order Entry

Customers have increasingly higher demands, especially in the area of self-service. They no longer want to place orders via email and don’t have time to call you for every transport assignment. Therefore, you want to make it as easy as possible for your customers to create new orders. This can be done, for example, through an EDI integration with your software system and that of your customer. But also with a customer portal – aka web portal – you prevent your employees from having to type in orders into your system manually. And you meet the self-service demands of your customers. Therefore, give your customers the ability to create FMS and TMS orders via 3PL Dynamics’ web portal.
Order Entry via the Web Portal
Through the 3PL Dynamics web portal, your customers can enter orders themselves, which are directly created in your system. More importantly, this functionality is generically designed and can be used for various forms of entry. This means you can configure these entry forms entirely flexibly and per customer.
Building a Web Portal Form
The order entry functionality guides your customers step-by-step through the entry process. You lead the customer through various stages along different sections with fields. The section type determines how the fields are presented. Fields can be presented in the form of a questionnaire, in two columns (e.g., from and to address), or in a row entry. The latter also allows for the entry of lines on the form.
With line entry, you can add depth to your order entry. Lines can have detail lines, and detail lines can have their own details. This allows for up to three levels of depth in specifying lines. Think, for example, of a transport order with goods (level 1), items on lines with goods (level 2), and SSCC numbers on items (level 3).
Within a section, you can configure various field types, such as for text, phone numbers, numbers, dates, or file uploads. You can determine the label for these fields and the conditions for the entry.
Orders Directly in 3PL Dynamics
With the Web Portal Forms, you have full control over how the form looks and what the user can or cannot enter. Ultimately, the goal is to create an order based on the entry. This is done through a configurable function executed after the last step in the form. This function can use fields from the form as input, creating an order based on the entered data.
Have Customers Create New Users Themselves
Just as your customers don’t have time to call you for every order, you don’t have time to answer the phone for every question. Therefore, these forms can be used for more than just order entry. It is currently possible to create and manage other web portal users as users in the web portal. Or to disable an existing user or adjust assigned roles within configurable limits.

These web portal forms are available to customers in the Microsoft Cloud on 3PL Dynamics version 25.2 or higher. Web Portal Forms is a major new functionality for the web portal.
