Your transport operation relies on accurate and up-to-date data. That’s why Boltrics’ Transport Management System (TMS) integrates with PTV. PTV is the standard for the transport industry worldwide. PTV offers industry-accepted route calculations in the Netherlands and internationally with comprehensive map data, maintained in real-time. This allows you, as a logistics service provider, to rely on the most accurate data to support your transport processes. And, with the integration of PTV Developer, we are taking another step forward by providing you with even more advanced tools for route planning and optimization.

PTV Xserver end-of-life

Currently, Boltrics’ TMS integrates with PTV via PTV XServer. This provides a powerful set of APIs for route planning and optimization that can be integrated into existing systems. With this, we calculate an address’s geocoordinates, determine the route based on kilometers and hours, and display the route on the map. However, support for PTV XServer will end in 2025. Therefore, Boltrics is taking the next step toward PTV Developer.

Integration between PTV Developer and your TMS

The new integration with PTV Developer offers new opportunities for your operation. We will continue to use the integration for your route calculations. But we are also expanding the integration with, among other things, additional calculations based on vehicle profiles for your fleet. Furthermore, you will have access to accurate toll calculations and emission calculations, which provide detailed information about the emissions for a specific trip.

Vehicle profiles

With vehicle profiles, you get a predefined set of profiles available for your vehicles in 3PL Dynamics. These include the size and weight of your trailers and the standard TLN profiles. This allows you to automatically perform more precise CO2 emission calculations or set conditions on certain routes.

Toll calculations

The expansion of the PTV integration also ensures that you have up-to-date toll tables available. This means that toll costs are directly included in the total calculations of your trips. You can choose to make these visible in your cost calculation or charge them directly to your customer.

Emission calculations

A lot is changing for transport and logistics companies due to the European directive for sustainability reporting (CSRD). Every company can be affected by CSRD. Large companies must report on their own sustainability activities and those of their clients, business partners, and suppliers. And because larger companies must comply with this European directive, smaller companies may be asked by their clients to provide emission data for outsourced transport movements. In short, regardless of the size of your operation, you will need to deal with emission reporting.

With the arrival of PTV Developer, you can calculate this emission per vehicle profile in Boltrics’ TMS. For example, the weight of the vehicle influences its emissions. Additionally, it takes into account whether your trucks run on electricity or fossil fuels. The emissions are then directly recorded for a trip, in accordance with the ISO14083 standard and international regulations, and accredited by the Smart Freight Center (SFC).
