Bakker Transport & Warehousing takes next steps in automation with new features in Boltrics’ TMS

Bakker Transport & Warehousing is now live with Boltrics’ Transport Management System (TMS) and is making a new leap in automating their transport processes. After an extensive selection process and subsequent successful implementation, the logistics service provider from Heereveen is now fully operational with Boltrics’ TMS to support their transport activities and relieve their customers.

Over 30 years progressive in the logistics industry

“With the previous TMS, we encountered limitations,” says Arjen Hoekstra, Director of Operations at Bakker Transport & Warehousing. “Not because it didn’t work well, but because we wanted to take our transport automation in a different direction. This resulted in the choice between a re-implementation or opting for a new system, and we ultimately chose to further expand our trust in Boltrics’ philosophy moving to their TMS.”

By choosing the TMS, Bakker Transport & Warehousing expands the use of Boltrics’ software solution. “We already supported our warehouse processes with Boltrics’ 3PL Dynamics and stand behind the philosophy of the industry standard,” continues Arjen Hoekstra. “Our colleagues can make adjustments in the application themselves, they know the structure, and don’t need to program anything. That’s a big advantage. And in this way, we can seamlessly integrate with our warehouse activities.”

Utilizing widely supported functionalities in transportation

With the new TMS, Bakker Transport & Warehousing can rely on relevant functionalities for 3PL and take their transport planning and administration to the next level. “The visual planning screen combined with the directly linked resource planning ensures that our planners can plan trips efficiently. Additionally, we will instruct drivers directly from the system via WhatsApp, we control on-board computers of dedicated trips via trip templates filled from the on-board computers, and we have fully automated the processing of purchase invoices in the system using AI,” concludes Arjen Hoekstra.
