Frigo Group will start supporting its logistics processes with the WMS and TMS developed by Boltrics. With this decision, Frigo Group – which includes Frio Nieuw-Vennep, Frigo Group Logistics, Frigo Group Transport, and FGT Warehousing – aims to streamline both their storage and transportation activities with Boltrics the industry-specific software solution.

From cold storage to general cargo and dry storage

Originally specialized in frozen logistics, Frigo Group additionally focuses on conditioned storage, general cargo, and dry storage. Furthermore, Frigo handles the conditioned transport to and from cold storage facilities, providing daily domestic and international deliveries. In short, the logistics service provider plays a crucial role in the cold logistics industry.

A required reimplementation of the old Warehouse Management System gave Frigo Group the opportunity to explore other available WMS solutions. Advised by Pearlsy Sjauw of Sjauw Consulting Management, Frigo quickly crossed paths with Boltrics to see how 3PL Dynamics could support their logistic processes.

“Boltrics is a well-known name in the cold logistics industry,” states Joost van Elderen, Frigo Group. “Thanks to their extensive experience in the industry, Boltrics recognizes the processes in our operation and can seamlessly translate these processes to the right configuration in the new WMS.”

Leveraging industry-standard functionalities

With the new software solution, Frigo Group can benefit from functionalities developed for cold storage worldwide. The standard solution is then flexibly configurable to the needs and specific processes of Frigo Group, without the need for custom-made software.

Joost van Elderen: “Thanks to the input of Boltrics’ successful implementations in the cold storage market, the existing functionalities in the software seamlessly align with our needs. While saying goodbye to custom-made software, we can configure our processes exactly as desired, taking our service to a higher level.”

Transportation activities managed by the industry standard

In addition to the WMS, Frigo Group has also chosen Boltrics’ Transport Management System. Joost explains, “Again, the decisive factor was the standard functionalities already present in the software. We can directly utilize the visual planning, easily set up integrations with various onboard computers, and flexibly apply information for the PTV integration.”

The WMS implementation in Nieuw-Vennep starts in September, followed by the implementation in Geldermalsen and the TMS.
