More control over their processes, better insight into the latest status and improved communication facilities towards clients. In order to be able to make the desired professionalization, J. Wessels & zn recently started working with Boltrics’ TMS. The international transportation company is taking the next step in automating and optimizing their logistics and business processes.

“International transport requires a smart approach and efficient planning. Not only to keep costs low but also to get the freight to the place of destination quickly, timely and without damage”, states Aard Wessels, Manager at J. Wessels & zn. “This means that processes and communication lines must be perfectly coordinated. Whether it concerns planning, where trucks are located, tariff agreements with customers or the way in which our documentation is captured.”

The logistics company, therefore, searched for a user-friendly, flexible system where they can use the latest technology right now but also the coming five years. For example, there was the desire to be able to exchange messages with clients easily and in real time – in accordance with the latest standard.

One of the most important criteria for choosing a new solution was to further professionalize their way of working and to avoid unnecessary (manual) steps during the logistic process. With the commissioning of the TMS solution from Boltrics, the organization gains continuous insight into their data, can record the most complicated tariff agreements per customer and an EDI link is standard functionality. In addition, the link with Trimble’s onboard computers always gives them real-time insight into the journeys. If there is a delay on the road, the planning can be adjusted immediately.

“With our previous software supplier, we noticed that the product development was at a standstill – while the (technical) requirements of our customers are increasing,” says Reint Sanderman, System Coordinator at J. Wessels & zn. “We have therefore opted for Boltrics’ branch solution, which offers us always access to the latest technological possibilities – thanks to the Microsoft Dynamics platform. But at the same time, we do not compromise on user-friendliness. For example, registering data is no longer rocket science – but a clear, self-evident process that our employees can start using immediately.”
