OSCOT, one of the most important transportation KPIs

Not too long ago I orderer some office supplies via the webshop of a well-known retail chain. Which one exactly is not necessarily important, no need to smear. Despite the fact that I had placed the order well in advance – about a week before I needed the supplies – the retailer did not succeed in delivering the articles on the desired day. Or in fact, the logistics service provider that works for the retailer did not manage to deliver on time. However, in many cases end consumers will not blame the transporter, but the company where they ordered the product. But you know: on their turn they will knock on your door about this. If this happens too often, there is a chance that you will lose a customer. And all because you did not meet one of the most important transportation KPIs, OSCOT: Orders Shipped Complete on Time.
Service Level Agreements (SLA)
As a transporter you want to achieve a certain quality level. You set goals for this and make agreements with your customers. In these so-called Service Level Agreements (SLA) you contractually establish with your client which quality requirements you have to meet. Your customers expect you to comply with your SLAs and deliver orders quickly, completely and efficiently. And you want to keep your good name and deliver the quality you stand for. All very self-evident, because this is exactly the reason why you started this business deal. Ultimately, you and your client have the same goal: a guarantee of timely and complete deliveries.
